Poetry Society of America Spotlight Series

PSA Spotlight Series, March 10th at 7 p.m.

The Poetry Society of America, in association with Red Hen Press, is proud to announce Southern California’s acclaimed reading series, The PSA Spotlight Series. Featuring local and international poets, the series hosts the very best of today’s artists. Dana Goodyear, staff writer for The New Yorker, introduces and moderates the night’s reading.

KIM ADDONIZIO has authored four poetry collections, most recently What is This Thing Called Love (W.W. Norton). She has been a National Book Award finalist, recipient of Guggenheim and NEA Fellowships, and other awards. Her second novel My Novel Out in the Street, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2007. MARTHA RONK is the author of several chapbooks and seven books of poetry most recently, Vertigo, a National Poetry Series Selection 2007, and In a Landscape of Having to Repeat (Omnidawn Press), selected as the PEN USA best poetry book 2005. Her collection of short stories, Glass Grapes, is forthcoming from BOA Editions, and she is a 2007 recipient of an NEA fellowship. She teaches Renaissance literature and creative writing at Occidental College in Los Angeles.

MICHAEL RYAN has written four books of poems, an autobiography, a memoir, and a collection of essays. His New and Selected Poems (Houghton Mifflin) won the
2005 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. Michael has been a recipient of two NEA Fellowships, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Yale Series of Younger Poets Award, and has been a National Book Award finalist. His poems and essays have appeared in The American Poetry Review, The New Yorker, and many other publications. He is Professor of English and Creative Writing at University of California, Irvine.
