March 6, 2006
Four years ago we had heard a bad news but now here we have good news. It is
so wonderful to be in a free world once again. How horrible was it, to be
life imprisoned for writing some facts. That means still the world is not
civilized as it ought to be.
I am writing to you, dear sirs, to convey a goodwill message. I was released
on 21st Feb. 2006 from under house arrest. In other words President Gayyoom
has pardoned me for so-called offences and now once again I am in a free world.
Dear Sirs, I am very thankful to you, all the members of your good organization for your concern on me at that horrified days in my life. Indeed your endeavor to free me was a great contribution towards my release. I thank you a lot and will remember all of you in the days to come. Indeed your noble mission is to uphold human value and dignity. I am sure the most powerful equipment in shaping the world, to make it as a safe place is Pen
and pencil. So we will never ever abandon our pen and pencil even we face jail sentences.
We must use pen and pencil to promote humane value and dignity through-out the world. Our Holy book says: “HE HAS TOUGHT MAN THAT WHICH HE KNEW NOT BY THE PEN.” So, our Creator has taught us things that we know not through this powerful weapon. Pen is the most useful and most influential instrument in day today life. Once again I offer USA pen my heart-felt gratitude for your concern on me. I was so encouraged when I learnt that your organization was tirelessly working towards my release.
