Algonquin West Hollywood Literary Award Soiree

On Saturday, October 3rd, at 7 pm, the Algonquin West Hollywood Literary Award Soiree will be held at the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, CA 90069. This event will honor the literary achievements of PEN member Aimee Liu and is a benefit for our PEN in the Classroom Program.

The benefit will include performances by local writers, including students from this year’s PITC Program.  The main performance material will be culled largely from the writings of Dorothy Parker and other members of the legendary Algonquin Round Table.

West Hollywood Book Fair

Please join us on Sunday, October 4th, from 3:45 - 4:30 pm, as PEN USA presents a reading by the 2009 Emerging Voices at the West Hollywood Book Fair. Erika Ayon, John Boucher, Rachelle Cruz, Thi Dao, Parnaz Foroutan, Syliva Sukop, Marissa Tinloy, and Mehnaz Turner will be reading selected poems, stories and non-fiction on the Salon Stage.

The 8th Annual West Hollywood Book Fair will be held on October 4th from 10 am to 6 pm in West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd, in West Hollywood. Featuring stages with author panels, special guests and live performances, exhibitors and writing workshops, the West Hollywood Book Fair is one of Southern California’s most eclectic literary events attracting readers and writers of all ages and interests.
